I’ve met a lot of Saab nuts in my time, but most of them were in Europe. I never really had the opportunity to plumb the depths of Saab nuttiness in the USA. More’s the pity. If I had, I’m sure I would have come across a bloke named Bruce Turk. If, like me, you don’t know Bruce but his
They say that the sea is only salty because of the tears cried by misunderstood sharks that just want to be hugged. They can add my tears to that tally tonight. Earlier this month came the news that a car I was legitimately dreaming of owning one day – a new Alfa Romeo Spider developed in conjunction with a new

Did you watch the first Inside Koenigsegg video series last year? If not, click that link and get yourself educated about what it takes to build the most amazing cars in the world. The latest iteration – the world’s first ‘megacar’ – is the Koenigsegg One:1, which as you’ll learn in the video is pronounced “one to one”. The premise

This is another entry from the Inside Saab days, in a similar vein to my Saab 9-3 Viggen production numbers article. The data was lost when Inside Saab went down, but thankfully I’ve been able to retrieve it thanks largely to the Wayback Machine. Sadly, the Viggen and the MCY 900 Convertible are the only two models I got the
I’ve got a new guest in my front yard 🙂 It’s a 1982 Alfa Romeo Sprint Veloce. Also known as an Alfasud Sprint. It’s basically an Alfasud – it shares the exact same chassis and mechanicals – with a small Alfetta-like body thrown on top. Regular readers would know that I have one of these on my automotive bucket list
My mechanic did the right thing. He called me as soon as he realised the balance belt wasn’t the right one for the 968. I did the right thing. I called a parts place in Melbourne and ordered another one, post haste, because I need the car this weekend for a drive day with some friends. The parts guy tells
I can say it now: The Alfa Romeo 4C is my new dream car. For real. Yes, I can dare to dream about actually owning one of these, one day. It won’t be for 5 years or so, but I can really, really dream about it and know that it’s a genuine possibility, free from the dangers of vomit when
Petrolicious makes some of my favourite online car films. You can imagine the anticipation, then, when I saw that this week’s film featured a Saab Sonett II. And it’s not any old Saab Sonett II (if there is such a thing). It’s a two-stroke Saab Sonett II, which is among the rarest of Swedes. Here’s the film…. —— To be
Apologies for the short entry but I’m restricted to typing on my iPad and it’s a pain in the rear end. That’s an appropriate place to start, actually, because my wife would gladly wager that my rear end is noisier than the rear end of a 2014 Formula 1 car, the quietness of which has got Australia’s F1 promoter threatening

With thanks to my mother-in-law (yes, really)….. Perhaps the best way to add value to a Cadillac is to glue money on it. 38,295 US pennies, to be exact. Cost of modifications: $382.95 Weight added: 200lbs (90kgs) I do like the sign on the hood 🙂 …… —— And in related Yank-Tank news, Cadillac are looking to make a charge
Long time, no write. We’ve just had a long weekend and I spent much of it back in my home town – Melbourne – visiting my family. A great time was had by all and I can’t wait to get back there again. Soon, I hope. Meanwhile, in the motoring world….. Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior When people talk classic
